4 Weeks Old

Lena is 4 weeks old today, and she will be 1 month old on Friday.  Cory and I laugh when we think about how a month ago we were taking walks, eating spicy foods, and doing everything we could think of as we anxiously waited for Miss Lena to arrive.  Now it seems like we have gotten into a routine and are getting used to our new life as parents. 

Lena continues to grow, and we are amazed at how strong she is.  She holds her head up so well, so you really have to be careful when you put her up on your shoulder. Cory likes to have her sit up big, and she will hold her head up on her own.  She still enjoys looking at herself in the mirror and admiring all the pretty things that hang from her play mat.  We've also started doing "tummy time" with her.  She holds her head up, turns it from side to side, and if we put our hand against her feet she will even scoot across the mat.  She and I still take our walks around the neighborhood, but now she enjoys looking around as opposed to sleeping the whole time. 

Something that Lena has started doing that I am excited about is sleeping longer between night feedings.  The past 2 nights she has gone 7-8 hours between the first feeding and then another 5-6 before the next feeding in the morning.  Of course she still grunts and makes her noises before waking up and crying, so we don't necessarily sleep that whole time.  But regardless, I am feeling nice and rested.

We are excited about this coming weekend.  We're having Mom and Dad come for the weekend, and the Collins will all come over on Sunday for Easter Lunch.  We're especially thankful and blessed this year since it is Lena's first Easter.
